It was a time when we were just recovering from the latest recession, and the job market, like now, was slow to catch up in the economic recovery, especially to find a good job. I had just finished my Master’s degree in health administration after attending school for about nine years part time while working full time and being a single parent. I was ready for the payoff from all of the hard work, so I was ecstatic when I was offered what I thought to be a great opportunity as a clinic manager. It was a long-term temporary position, but I figured it was a start in management, and I would have several months to secure other employment. Unfortunately, it turned out to be little more than a clinic float position, so I quit after a short period of time and was without a job.
