It’s hard to think about what types of things to purchase for Easter baskets when you are facing a store aisle full of chocolate bunnies, bags of malted milk eggs and tons of brightly colored plastic eggs. But children love to find fun, unique items on Easter morning, so here are some ideas to help you ‘think outside the basket.’
Decorate Your Own
If you’re lucky enough to have a Target store near you, the store really has a fantastic holiday section and in their Easter section you can find a few different “Decorate Your Own” kits like decorate-your-own Marshmallow Peeps, different sizes and styles of eggs, other fun decorating candy kits. These are great for kids’ Easter baskets because it gives them something to do as well as to eat! You could also include an egg decorating kit in your child’s basket, and with a dozen eggs in your refrigerator you will both have fun decorating your own eggs later in the day.
